Happy Easter everyone! I haven't made a post for a while but I wanted to take the time to talk about something that is very important to me. I have recently decided that the new musical film adaptation of "Les Misérables" is my favorite movie. Lately, I have been hearing a lot of complaints and criticism concerning the performance of Russell Crowe's as Javert. First of all, this is the first production of Les Mis I ever saw so I had no previous expectations for this character. And I have to say, I found Russell Crowe's portrayal to be brilliantly moving and memorable. Mr. Crowe has been an actor and singer for a long time, forming a rock band in the early 2000's. But he had certainly never performed music such as this. In fact, he was the only leading cast member to not have been familiar with this musical beforehand. However, Cameron Mackintosh, the creator of this musical, followed his career for years and had him in mind. So, when the film came around, Russell Crowe auditioned and everyone from director Tom Hooper to the original writers of the musical, Schönberg and Boublil, to Cameron Mackintosh were all impressed. Now it is my humble opinion that if those who started the musical back in 1985 stood by Crowe's performance, which they did, we shouldn't disagree because of anyone, they would know what was required for the character of Javert. What the creators intended for Javert came through in his performance and satisfied them. I believe any fan of this musical should respect that. If people don't like it they shouldn't blame it on Russell Crowe or anyone but themselves. Please share this and get the word out!

Russell Crowe: Les Misérables

"Thor" Movie Review
After watching "The Incredible Hulk" and reading negative reviews of this movies, I was dreading watching it. But I am pleased to say that it surpassed my expectations. When Thor is banished from his home world, he lands in New Mexico in the presence of three scientists. They aren't sure what to do with him and as they get to know him, they find that there is more to him than what meets the eye. Meanwhile back home, his father has fallen into a sort of coma and his brother is now the ruler. And not a very good one at that. Chris Hemsworth does a great job in the lead role as does Anthony Hopkins as Odin and Tom Hiddleston as Loki. The movie felt refreshing and although a bit cheesy, it was entertaining. Not as good as "Iron Man" and "Captain America: The First Avenger", but not bad.
7/10
